One True North ("we", "the app") is a small, independently run job-matching app currently in free beta. This policy explains, in plain language, what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address, and your name if you sign in with Google.
- Resumes you upload (PDF or Word) and the text we read from them.
- Search preferences: target roles, locations, salary and must-haves for each profile.
- Job activity: matches we generate, listings you paste in, and jobs you save or hide.
- Feedback you send through the app.
- Basic usage: when your account was created and when you last opened the app.
We do not collect payment information, and we do not use advertising trackers.
How we use it
- To find and score job matches against your preferences.
- To suggest resume edits and application steps for each job.
- To keep you signed in and keep your profiles separate.
- To understand how many people use the app and improve it based on feedback.
AI processing
To create matches and resume tips, your resume text, preferences and any listings you paste are sent to an AI model provider through our hosting platform. They are used only to produce your results, not to advertise to you. AI suggestions can be wrong — always confirm job details and pay with the employer.
Sharing
We do not sell, rent or share your personal information for marketing. Your data is only handled by the services that run the app (hosting, database, sign-in and AI processing), or when required by law.
Storage and security
Your data is stored with our cloud hosting provider. Access rules ensure each signed-in person can see only their own profiles, resumes and matches. The app owner can view account emails, sign-up dates and feedback to run the service. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete individual profiles and resumes at any time from the Profile page. To delete your whole account and all its data, send a request through the feedback form while signed in, choosing "Privacy request", and we'll remove it within 30 days.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example California or the EU), you may have the right to access, correct, download or delete your personal information. Send a request through the feedback form and we'll help.
Children
The app is meant for adults looking for work and is not intended for anyone under 16.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above. Big changes will be noted in the app.
